Through support from the Organisation for Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), our CEO Jane Townsley and Ellie Bird of Amuka were able to facilitate the development of a Gender Agenda for Kosovo Police.
This work entailed a detailed analysis of their current strategies, policies and procedures both from an internal and external gender equality perspective followed by recommendations and the presentation of a draft Gender Agenda strategy and action plan to ensure Kosovo Police delivers both gender sensitive and gender responsive policing services. Included as part of the baseline assessment, was field work across Kosovo, interviewing individuals and running focus groups of police officers and staff (male and female), ministerial, NGO, CSO and community representatives.
Like many organisations around the world, just as our recommendations were presented, priorities changed due to COVID-19, but we look forward to the final outcomes of our recommendations
